ANDREWS COUNTY -- More information has been released about a bad accident that happened Monday night.

The crash happened south of Andrews along U.S. 385 Monday evening. Johnny Garcia, 24, was driving north on the highway when his vehicle crossed the median into the southbound lanes. An 18-wheeler then smashed into the vehicle.

CareStar was on the scene, and the helicopter flew Garcia to Medical Center Hospital. Garcia remains in serious condition there.

An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the crash. Authorities say speed was not a factor in the accident.
