The Big 2 Career Fair was going on at the Midland County Horseshoe. Almost 50 businesses were on hand. They were offering a wide variety of positions, and looking to secure solid workers.
"We're looking for oil field labor, warehouse production, administrative, even professional people," said Holly Lathrop of SOS.
"I'm looking for people that are friendly and outgoing," said Rick Edgar of Chili's restaurants. "We can teach the technical aspects of the job, and we want young people that know how to take care of people.
"Right now we have a need for rig hands and C.D.O. drivers," said Trivia Baty of Basic Energy.
Today we had a total of 46 candidates -- possible candidates -- for our facility," said Kami Tipp of GEO Group, Inc.
"We've had several good applicants today," said Bill Houston of Lonestar Distribution, Inc. "We even sent the C.D.O. applicant to get a drug test to see if he can come work for us."
As you can see, some people were being offered jobs on the spot. Hundreds of people went through the fair, dropping off resumes and speaking with representatives.
Big 2 would like to thank all of the businesses and applicants that came out for making the Career Fair a big success.
