PECOS -- The Texas Rangers are still investigating the death of the Pecos city manager.

Rangers are now saying that it appears as though Joseph Gilbert Torres died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.

This came a day after Torres had been indicted on a charge of indecency with a child.

The Rangers will wait for the official cause of death to come from the Permian Basin Forensic Center, which is expected in a week or two.
