Fire Closes TX 115 In Andrews County

ANDREWS COUNTY -- A grass fire closed a major road in Andrews County Wednesday.

    TXDOT closed TX 115 between Mustang Drive and F.M. 181 Wednesday afternoon because of a fire there. The fire was initially contained by mid-afternoon, and crews were working  on hot spots in the area after that.

    The fire broke out again around 6 PM Wednesday. The fire was spreading into the evening, and crews were working to contain it once again. Crews said TX 115 was still closed at of 6:30 PM, and several other roads near the blaze had also been closed. Drivers should avoid the area if possible.
   
    Meanwhile, another grass broke out along F.M. 181 near the Gaines-Andrews County line Wednesday afternoon. Officials told drivers to avoid that area.

    Also, drivers should never head into smoke.
