ODESSA -- A trial against a former Odessa Police sargeant continued Wednesday in Ector County.

Johnny Joe Valderaz is accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend more than a year ago. He resigned from the force in February 2010.

The trial began Tuesday in Odessa. The victim took the stand Tuesday afternoon, and she finished her testimony Wednesday. Then, Texas Ranger Phillip Camp took the stand.

The Rangers investigated the case early in 2010.
