Midland Commissioners Court Discusses Jail Visitation Software

MIDLAND -- Midland County Commissioners discussed purchasing new jail video visitation software on Monday morning.
That software will be one of the many features of the new jail expansion in Midland County. It will make jail visitations more high-tech.
"It'll go through the internet," Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter told Big 2. "Then they can access the system at the jail. We can put the inmate with the videoconferencing telephone with the person that wants to visit with the inmate -- and they can have a visit."
Commissioners discussed who the purchasing agent will be for this software Monday.
Sheriff Painter says the jail expansion should be ready for inmates by May.
