Accidents Down In Midland In 2010

MIDLAND -- Midland has released its statistics for last year's traffic accidents, and the numbers are down across the board in the Tall City.

    There were 2,963 accidents in Midland in 2010, which is down from 2009's figure of 3,144 in 2009. Injuries were also down from 866 to 835.

    Fatalities were about the same both years. There were 16 fatalities in 2010, and 17 in 2009.

    The two most dangerous intersections in Midland last year were Briarwood & Midland Drive and Midkiff & Wall. There were 14 crashes at each those intersections in 2010. There were 11 crashes at Andrews Highway & Midland Drive in 2010, 10 crashes at Midland Drive & Wadley and 9 crashes at Lamesa & Front.
