The Rock House Fire in Fort Davis is still 60 percent contained as of Wednesday. Fire crews are still reporting that 108,000 acres have been burned.
The good news is that the big fires are apparently winding down. Crews worked to remove fire fuels south of Balmorhea, to keep the flames from spreading to homes and pastures there. TX 17 was reopened south of Balmorhea, and TXDOT says that all state roads in West Texas that were closed because of the wildfires have been reopened.
In Fort Davis, 93 percent of residents had power their power restored Wednesday afternoon, and most were expected to have natural gas by the end of the day.
The Red Cross has asked all residents who suffered losses in the blaze to contact them for assistance.
