PECOS COUNTY --  A fire continues to grow in southeast Pecos County.

The Cannon Fire has now burned more than 15,000 acres near Interstate 10, southwest of Iraan. The blaze is now a combination of 4 separate fires.

Those fires broke out when lightning hit dry vegetation in the rugged terrain Sunday night. Fierce winds helped spread the blaze Tuesday, and crews had to close a section of Interstate 10, although that highway has now been reopened.

Meanwhile, smoke has continued to reduce visibilities in the area.
