Income Tax Deadline Extended

Because this year's Tax Day fell on a Friday, the income tax deadline has been extended through Monday. That means any procrastinators can file their taxes through Monday without any penalties.
If you're filing by mail, the post office will not be open late on Monday, so be sure to send off your information by 5 that afternoon.
If you can't make that deadline, you can request an extension with the I.R.S. That extension is good through October 18th.
Meanwhile, property taxes do not have an extended deadline. If you didn't file those by Friday, you need to request an extension with the I.R.S.
