Midland Convict Accused Of Assaulting Prosecutor In Court

MIDLAND -- The Midland County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a bizarre incident that happened in a Midland courtroom last week.

    A jury found 60-year-old Jimmie Dean Houge guilty of three counts of aggravated robbery on Thursday. They sentenced him to 99 years for each of the counts.

    After the verdict was read, Houge allegedly read a letter to the jury saying that he was part of the Aryan Nation, and that he would would fight the Texas Criminal Justice system until he died. Then, he allegedly tried to attack prosecutor Cannon Jones.

    The Midland County Sheriff's Office has been investigating the incident, and they hope to turn the results over to the District Attorney's Office next week. Houge could face more charges for the incident.
