ODESSA -- There were some scary moments at E.C.I.S.D. Thursday morning, as a bomb was reported at a junior high school.

A 9th grade student at Bowie Junior High reported that another student had bragged about having a bomb in his locker. As District Police were preparing to evacuate the campus, they discovered that the student who had reported the threat was also the one who had bragged about the bomb. That's when officials  figured out that the whole thing was a hoax, and the evacuation was called off.

District officials say they commend the officers for their response, not only in securing the safety of the school, but also limiting the amount of distraction. Meanwhile, the student involved could be facing felony charges.
