MIDLAND -- A Midland man is behind bars, after police accused him of breaking into a home and assaulting another man with a knife.

James Kemp was arrested on Sunday. According to an arrest affidavit, Kemp, 23, kicked in Christopher Sinclair's front door at his home on Holly and assaulted Sinclair with a knife. Kemp later walked away from the scene, wearing black shorts and no shirt.

Police found Kemp on the street, but he took off, and kicked down a fence as police chased him. Eventually, Kemp kicked in another door at a home on Park. He was arrested in the living room of that home.

Now, Kemp is charged with burglary of a habitation, criminal mischief and trespassing. He's being held on more than $51,000 bond.
