After a humid Thursday and a muggy Friday sunrise, much drier air will quickly fill back into the Permian Basin. that dryline will surge east today sparking storms east of our area so plan for a sunny, hot and dry Earth Day. Get out there and enjoy the weather but bring water and sunscreen, temps will top out at 96 today. Saturday will be just as hot with highs back in the middle 90's as moisture makes its return to the Basin. Late Saturday moisture slamming into our warm, dry air will spark storms. Some of these could be strong but confined to our eastern counties. By Sunday afternoon, other than a few clouds lingering, drier air will return again. The wind returns Monday bringing critical fire weather concerns back to the forecast. Despite the chance for rain this weekend, the ground is still dry and primed for the spread of wildfires. Be responsible while grilling this weekend!
