MIDLAND -- Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd every year. But Earth Day should be everyday.

It's as simple as picking up a piece of trash off the ground. We all know the importance of taking care of our planet. The Earth provides us with food, oxygen, shelter, energy and much more, and it's up to us to take care of it. But some people don't even know how easy it is.

There are simple ways that anyone can help. You can plant a tree. Animals depend on plants for food and shelter and they give oxygen for all living creatures.

You can also join an Earth-friendly organization. Organizations like Keep Midland Beautiful or Keep Odessa Beautiful are always looking for volunteers to help with projects to make our cities a better place to live.

Or you can just go outside to play or enjoy a picnic. Everybody benefits from the fresh air and exercise. It also saves energy from being used.

These are only just a few suggestions. There are many more ways you can help the environment. All it takes is one positive change to make this world a better place
