Permian Basin Forensic Center Not Accepting New Autopsies

ODESSA -- The Permian Basin Forensic Center has announced they're temporarily not accepting new autopsies. And the cost is going to be felt by Ector County.
Center Manager Carl Rogers made the announcement on autopsies earlier this week. The center opened in March 2010. Since that time, they've performed 230 autopsies for 29 different counties.
For now, Ector County will have to send autopsies to Tarrant County -- which is very expensive.
The center is still staffed, but there's no word yet on when they'll begin accepting autopsies.
