A slowly approaching cold front kicking up the winds today will make for a dangerous day today. Not dangerous because of extreme heat or severe storms but rather the lack of storms. Winds will gust up to 50 mph today in the Permian Basin and near 75 mph in the Guadalupe Mountains! Be careful driving or doing anything outdoors today. Work on ladders and roofs is highly dangerous this afternoon. Temps will top out near 90 but after the cold front pushes through tonight, only 70's expected Wednesday. Winds will be much lighter also but only for a day or so, by Friday the winds return. Expect gusts in the 40's Friday but before the wind returns, temperatures will be on the rebound first. Highs in the 80's to near 90 Thursday with upper 90's to near 100 expected Friday!
