MIDLAND -- The Midland City Council discussed proposed drilling activity at the Midland Airpark Airport during Tuesday's meeting.

The council has been discussing the issue for quite some time. Council members did vote to approve a proposal to lease land within and around the Midland Airpark Airport.

The approval basically means that the leased land can now be used for exploring and drilling for oil and gas.
