The Martin 2 Fire broke out near Lovington on Monday. It jumped two roads and burned about 25,000 acres before crews were able to stop it.
Crews worked on the edges of the fire Tuesday, keeping hot spots from flaring up. They're also trying to keep flames in the middle of the fire from spreading.
The good news is that no structures have been threatened or burned. The fire is now 80 percent contained.
