MIDLAND, TX – The body of an Andrews soldier killed in Afghanistan is making its way back home. And many are preparing to honor the young man's life today.
Sergeant John Paul Castro was killed by small arms fire on Friday. He was on his third tour overseas.
Castro's body is scheduled to arrive at the Midland International Airport after 11 AM Thursday.
Anyone who wants to show their respects, can line Main Street and Highway 176 around 12:30 PM. Boy Scouts will be there handing out flags.
Then the procession will head towards McNett Funeral Home.
There will then be final farewell at the James Roberts civic center in Andrews at 6PM.
