JEFF DAVIS COUNTY -- Finally, there is some good news coming from the Davis Mountains.

The Texas Forest Service is reporting that the blaze is officially contained. That blaze started in Marfa on April 9th, and it grew into the biggest recorded wildfire in Texas history.

Fire crews are changing out near the Davis Mountains. They continue to monitor hot spots, to ensure that nothing sparks up again.

The fire burned well more than 315,000 acres. The blaze took out dozens of homes and businesses as it passed through Fort Davis on April 9th.

Crews came close to getting the massive wildfire out earlier, but it kept escaping into the Davis Mountains.
