Update: Brewster Co. Fires

The so called "Schwartz Fire" is burning about about 20 miles due East of Marathon. The fire started on Sunday, and has already burned more than 3,000 acres.
Officials with the Brewster County Sheriff's Office told Big 2 News this fire is now completely contained. This fire forced evacuations on Sunday, but were told those have now been lifted.
Meanwhile, the Gage Holland fire is burning West of Alpine. According to the Texas Forest Service, it has scorched more than 3,500 acres.
Officials with the Brewster County Sheriff's Office told Big 2 News this fire is “controlled,” but not completely contained yet. It also forced evacuations on Sunday. Were told a shelter was set up for evacuees at the Alpine Civic Center.
