Alon USA has released the results for the first quarter of 2011, with a net income of $13.1 million dollars. That's compared to a net loss of almost $53 million for the same period the year before. Alon says their Big Spring refinery averaged 65,000 barrels per day throughout the month of March.
Alon USA Energy has also announced an important change in its executive management team. President Paul Eisman has been named CEO, and Jeff Morris will transition to a new role as vice chairman of Alon's board of directors.
Morris has been the primary leader and voice of the company since it was formed in 2000. Eisman joined Alon as president in March 2010, after serving as executive vice president of refining and marketing operations with Frontier Oil Corporation.
