Dangerously strong winds will pummel the Permian Basin this afternoon as our next weather system continues to stay well to our north. Winds will gust 45 to 50 mph across the Basin with over 75 mph in the Guadalupe Mtns. Areas of blowing dust and very high fire danger will be a major concern this afternoon. Temps will remain hot with highs in the middle 90's today and tomorrow but the wind will not be nearly as strong Wednesday. Thursday a cold front will roll through knocking temps back to near 90 (which is normal for this time of year) but only briefly. Triple digit highs Friday & Saturday to kick of your Memorial Day Holiday Weekend!
