MIDLAND -- New medical reports show up to 75% of American teens and adults lack sufficient amounts of Vitamin D. In this week's edition of Tuesday House Call, Dr. Ponder explains the dangers of this deficiency.

Low Vitamin D levels are linked to a number of issues, including: heart disease, diabetes, cancer and even more frequent common colds.

You can make sure you're getting enough Vitamin D by taking oral supplements.

Daily intake guidelines are as follows -
0-1 years:   400 IU Vitamin D daily
1-70 years: 600 IU Vitamin D daily
> 70 years: 800 IU Vitamin D daily

For more information watch Tuesday House Call with Dr. Stephen Ponder.
