MIDLAND - The Midland ISD Police Department is collaborating with officials from the Midland Police Department, Midland Fire Department, the Department of Public Safety, and the Midland County Sheriff's Office and Constable's Office for an inter-agency training exercise Thursday.

The exercise will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 16. at Midland Freshman High School, 100 E. Gist Ave.

An active shooter exercise is scheduled to be held three times during the training. It is based upon "Saving Lives When Seconds Count: School Safety for Texas Schools," material provided by the Texas Attorney General's Office.

The exercise will include role-playing scenarios and weapon use simulations, which will be contained within the perimeters of the Midland Freshman building and grounds.

In addition to law enforcement personnel, selected MISD administrators, teachers and students will participate.
