"There's huge amounts of growth. There's oil here for the next however many years. The job market is just growing. So it was a natural progression and something we wanted to be a part of," says Samuel Cross, Director of Global Sales.
Although Swift is an international company, they only hire local recruiters who know the local market. Now that their Midland team is in place, they've been able to help dozens of companies find qualified employees.
"Any client that has a vacancy. Everybody is so busy right now, they don't have time to fill it. So they give us the position we come in and screen everybody first. We have a process we go through," says Allison Webb, Recruiting Specialist. Webb says they narrow it down to the three best candidates and let the employer pick person that's the best fit for the job.
Sarah Burger, who is also a recruiting specialist from Swift, explains what sets Swift apart from other recruiters. "We are oil and gas specific. But as far as who we service, what kind of clients we service and what kind of candidates we place, we do everything. "
From the oilfield to the office and from large companies to small, they work daily to develop a massive candidate list to find the perfect fit for every client's need. "Everyday (we) call people. Sometimes they may not be a fit for what we're looking for, so we throw it in the data base. Keep it updated. Just fill it with people that are here locally and have great qualifications," says Sara Howren, Recruiting Specialist.
And according to Cross, their system has proven to be a big success. "It's a friendly town. It's a boom town for oil and gas and for jobs, and it's been very successful. We're actually planning to grow and develop over the next year."
