breaking news
Last night a cold front sank southward and into the Permian Basin. This morning it is now stalled out just south of the Basin and cooler weather has settled in this morning. Temps are dropping into the lower 70's and upper 60's for the first time in a couple weeks. Also for the first time in a couple weeks, temps won't hit the triple digits, today's afternoon highs will be in the upper 90's for a change. Isolated storms are possible along the front also but tomorrow stand a batter chance for more widespread rain. Overnight tonight, breezy southeast winds will push moisture into the Basin, increasing our humidity and helping our firefighters! Any storms will be strong and scattered throughout the Basin. The extreme heat builds back into the Basin Thursday as triple digits make a return to the forecast. Expect the 100s to last into the weekend!
