ODESSA -- The City of Odessa's altered water restrictions start Saturday.

The days you can water will not change. Even numbered addresses can water on Tuesday and Saturday. Odd numbered addresses can water Wednesday and Sunday.

But the time you can water will change, depending on how you water.

People who use an automatic sprinkler system can water between midnight and 5 AM on their scheduled watering day. If you hand water your grass, you can do that on your designated watering day from 7 PM to midnight.

The city decided to enact these changes because water pressure was getting very low with so many people watering at the same time. That can become a safety issue.

All the lakes that supply water to the area are at all time lows. Lake E.V. Spence -- which is less than one percent full -- is in the most danger. It's so low that Odessa and other areas are no longer using it as a water source.
