MIDLAND - A Marine on a "Smile Trek" mission, makes his final stateside stop in the Permian Basin, before beginning a 5,000-mile walk through Southeast Asia to raise funds for facial-reconstructive surgeries for children in need.

Sgt. Winston Fiore will fly to Singapore this weekend to start his year long "Smile Trek."

It just takes $250, Winston says, to repair a cleft lip or palate for a child in a developing country.

Winston's last mini walk and fundraiser will be Friday, Sept. 23rd. At about 11 AM he'll leave the Staples in Odessa and walk to Midland. He plans to end at Clear Springs Cafe in Midland about 6PM.

Winston shares his story and his inspiration on Good Morning West Texas.
