MIDLAND -- In this week's edition of Tuesday House Call, Dr. Stephen Ponder discusses the benefits of walking.

Benefits of walking include:
            Exercise reduces insulin resistance
            Metabolic effect lasts for 2 days
            Steps only need to add up to 10,000
            Use a pedometer to track progress

Tips to walk more:
            Take the stairs instead of the elevator
             Park the car further away from the store
             Walk your pet!
