FORT WORTH -- A Christian group in Fort Worth is advocating an alternative to Halloween, calling it instead "Jesus-ween."

Instead of handing out candy the group is asking fellow Christians to hand out Bibles and other Christian gifts to Trick-or-Treaters.

Jesusween.com says Halloween celebrates ungodly images and evil characters that are not consistent with the Christian faith. The Head of the Religion Department at TCU says Christians should take every opportunity to spread their faith's message to others.

Halloween like many other holidays has both pagan and Christian roots. Halloween or All Hallows Eve is celebrated the day before All Saints Day.
