Midland County Man Accused Of Holding Mother Hostage

MIDLAND -- A Midland County man is accused of holding his own mother hostage.

    Wesley Adam Wells was arrested on Wednesday.

    Midland County Sheriff's deputies say that Wells, 29, tied up his mother with a rope at her home on South County Road 1083 on Sunday morning.

    Wells reportedly blew marijuana smoke in his mother's face while she was tied up. Then, deputies say he shot her in the head with an air pistol.

    Wells took off, but deputies eventually found him and arrested him.

    Deputies say Wells has a history of violence and drug abuse. He was even reportedly kicked out of two medical facilities due to violence.

    Now, Wells is charged with three counts of aggravated assault causing bodily injury and one count of unlawful restraint causing serious bodily injury. He's being held on $7,500 bond.
