The state recently gave Marfa I.S.D. failing marks for its academics. But district leaders weren't going to go down without a fight.
The district appealed the ruling to the Texas Education Agency and asked that they reconsider it.
According to The Big Bend Sentinel, Commissioner of Education Robert Scott denied the district's appeal.
Meanwhile, Marfa I.S.D. is working to improve the district, even though state budget cuts have really hurt them -- along with hundreds of other districts across the state.
