Distracted Driver Smashes Into Midland County Home

MIDLAND COUNTY -- A driver takes his eyes off the road -- and ends up in a Midland County home.

    The distracted driving crash happened in the 500 block of Eastern around 9:30 AM Thursday.

    Department of Public Safety troopers tell Big 2 that a man was driving a pickup truck on Eastern when he reached down for a drink that was sitting in the console -- and took his eyes off the road.

    When the driver looked up, the truck had crashed into a home -- causing damage to the truck, home and a carport. The homeowner's pickup truck was also damaged in the crash

    Luckily, no one was hurt in the crash.

    No citations were written.
