Nationwide EAS Test

The emergency alert system is slated for it's first nationwide test today.
The 30-second broadcast scheduled for 1:00PM Central time on participating radio and television stations. Previously, the tests were undertaken at the state or local level.
The test is a joint effort by the FCC, FEMA, Homeland Security" and the National Weather Service.
