COAHOMA -- A stove costs two people their lives in Howard County.

Howard County Volunteer Fire Chief Tommy Sullivan tells Big 2 that a stove overheated in a home in the 100 block of Main in Coahoma around 5 AM Saturday morning.

Within minutes, the home burst into flames.

Six people were in the house at the time the fire broke out, and 4 were able to get out.

Petra Arguello, 60, and Jacob Arguello, 9, could not escape the burning building. They did not survive.

The stove was reportedly being used to heat the home.
