According to a recent report by Tellus Institute, a nonprofit research group, recycling is a more involved process than just collecting and disposing of trash.
The study found if people in the United States increased recycling from 33% of people to 75% of people by 2030, an additional 1.5 millions jobs would be added to the U.S. economy.
Workers would be needed for collecting, processing, and composting trash and for making new products with recycled materials.
