By: Stephanie Castillo
Updated: November 16, 2011
With the recent surge in popularity E-books are seeing, more and more libraries are going digital and lending out e-books.

According to the Library Journal, 82-percent of public libraries now offer E-books.

The report shows E-books will make up eight percent of their materials budget over the next several years.

Many public libraries have been lending electronic books on E-readers or PCs. But now, they're also trying to move into the smartphone and tablet markets as well.

Not everyone is open to the shift though. Some of the largest publishers are still refusing to sell to public libraries.
