as a way to protect families of Ector County 24 hours a day from the high cost of Emergency Ambulance services.  For a one time charge of $59 one time charge at sign up or NEW OPTION OF $59 onetime charge on their January water bill or $6 per month ($72 per year) billed directly to their water bill, a family is enrolled in EMS Lifeline.

EMS Lifeline Program in Odessa is in its 12th year, offering residents of Ector County the opportunity to enroll annually.  Enrollment means EMS Lifeline covers the uninsured portion of the cost of ambulance services for you , your spouse, unmarried children under the age of 25, and any other person listed as a dependent on your income tax return living in your household. If a member does not have insurance their emergency ambulance service is fully covered by EMS Lifeline.

Enrollment fees go to help Odessa Fire/Rescue to improve and update equipment.

Sign up for EMS Lifeline begins in October and ends December 31st for coverage in the next year.

Existing members WHO HAVE THE WATER BILL PAYMENT OPTION are automatically enrolled unless cancelled by the member. IF A MEMBER MADE AN UPFRONT PAYMENT BY CHECK OR CREDIT CARD THEY WILL HAVE TO CONTACT  ODESSA  FIRE/ RESCUE AND ENROLL FOR 2012

Electronic advertising (radio and television) for sign up begins the 2nd week of October and newspaper ads come out at the beginning and ending of the sign up period.

Ector County citizens receive an application with the brochure in the mail.  The application is returned to Odessa Fire/Rescue, where they are entered into a data base.  The member then is sent a membership card.  The membership card is not required to be shown to EMS personnel in order to be covered upon transport.  The member and their household are covered for 1 full year beginning January 1st through December 31st.  Members should inform Odessa Fire/Rescue if dependents change.
