Updated: November 17, 2011
Good news for current and former Netflix customers. Most of who probably received an email on Wednesday about the class-action suit involving the price of online DVD rentals.

Well that email was legitimate. In the latest twist of the legal saga pitting consumers against both Netflix and Walmart.

The two company's had agreed to combine forces and boost Walmart's DVD sales and Netflix DVD rentals, but the deal went sour.

Leaving all those subscribed to Netflix and looking forward to the best of both DVD worlds in the fray.

During the course of the lawsuit Walmart has decided to settle paying more than $27 million in cash and gift cards. However, subscribers may only receive pennies of that amount after lawyers fees are paid. Netflix plans to continue fighting the case.
