Preview of Tonight's GOP National Security Debate

WASHINGTON DC -- If you think your family's Thanksgiving dinners are rowdy. The Republican Presidential hopefuls debate tonight in the nation's capitol amid the fall out from a failed deficit reduction deal could be quite interesting.

The stage has been set for the 11th major Republican showdown, and the candidates' main topic National Security. But the focus to shift to Congressional Super Committee 's failure to agree on a deal to cut $1.2 trillion from the U.S. deficit. The failure of Democrats and Republicans to strike a compromise triggered automatic cuts from military spending and social programs starting in 2013.

Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney said he found it extraordinary that the Super Committee with such an important mission could not find a fiscal solution resulting in a $600 billion cut in military spending.

Herman Cain who caught flak recently for suggesting the Taliban will be part of a new government in Libya. The U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. says the Taliban are not in Libya.

This will also be the first debate former House Speaker Newt Gingrich can claim front runner status in the polls.
