MIDLAND -- The holiday season is here, and for some that means fireworks. But this year could be different.

Midland County Commissioners are still debating if they'll ban fireworks for the holidays.

Commissioners have decided to delay the decision on fireworks until December 15th -- so they can see if the dry conditions continue across the Permian Basin.

If West Texas doesn't see any moisture by the middle of December, all aerial fireworks will likely be banned in Midland county.

Midland and Ector counties banned fireworks earlier this year for the July 4th holiday. Those bans expired in early July, after the holiday was over.
