Obama Unveils New Moves To Curb AIDS

WASHINGTON, DC  --  President Obama is unveiling new moves to curb global AIDS.

Obama is the featured speaker at a World Aids Day event at George Washington University. Obama insisted that the world can and will "beat this disease." 

He said AIDS is on the decline due to the persistence of the world community. Obama announced a new goal to treat an additional two-million people by the end of 2013.

Prior to Obama's remarks, former President George W. Bush cited tough times, but called on all nations to renew a commitment to combating global AIDS.
  
Bush spoke via satellite from Tanzania.
