House Takes Up New GOP Payroll Tax Extension Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today the House takes up the latest Republican version
of a payroll tax cut extension.
The bill before the House Rules Committee would extend the cut through next year.
It would also gradually reduce the maximum unemployment benefit from 99 weeks to 59, and greenlight the Canada-to-Texas Keystone oil pipeline project unless the President decides it is not in the national interest.
