Growing up, she was always the little girl to ask 'why'. Early on, her parents knew she was destined to be a reporter, but they let her follow her dream of becoming an actress. Stephanie went to Indiana University as a Theater Major and says she learned quickly that acting was a passion and not a talent. It wasn't until her internship at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, she realized doing the news was her calling. After graduating as a Double Major in Theater and Communication, Stephanie was hired as a reporter for WKAG-TV in Hopkinsville, KY.
After spending some time in Kentucky; Stephanie was soon West Texas Bound and hired as a new reporter for KMID Big 2. From 2007 to 2010, Stephanie worked as a reporter and weekend anchor for Big 2 News; covering stories like President George W. Bush coming home to Midland after President Barack Obama's inauguration.
Then, as life would have it, Stephanie moved to the Mid-west to work as a reporter for the NBC affiliate, WGBA-TV in Green Bay, WI. While in Wisconsin, Stephanie got to cover the controversial union bill, stripping state union workers of their collective bargaining rights. She also was right on the field after the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl and brought the Lombardi Trophy back to Lambeau Field. After spending almost a year in the snow, Stephanie's fiance proposed to her at the Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee (she said 'Yes') which got her back to West Texas.
Stephanie says she loves waking up everyday to say "Good Morning West Texas". You can email Stephanie at email@example.com or find her on her Facebook page Stephanie Sobic- KMID.
