Box Offices Reporting 2011 Not a Stellar Years For Ticket Sales

By: Big 2 News Staff
Updated: December 27, 2011
2011 was a bust for movie theater box offices.

With only a few days left until the new year, ticket sales in the U.S. are running about 500 million dollars behind last year.

Experts blame the drop on the poor economy, too many family flicks and not enough star power.

Ticket revenue is expected to be about ten billion dollars, about a 4.5% drop in ticket sales from 2010.
