HOUSTON -- The FAA is investigating reports of lasers being pointed into the cockpits of two planes at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.

The first report came from a United Airlines flight as it came in for a landing Tuesday night.

Around the same time, an Atlantic Southeast Regional jet reported a similar incident as it was taking off.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

The FAA says from January to June of this year, there have been more than 30 reports of what it calls "laser events" at the airport.

If caught, whoever is behind the laser pointing could face up to an $11,000 fine for each incident.
