WICHITA FALLS -- The Rider Band is just one bus ride and one plane ride away from beginning a trip of a lifetime.

Band members and chaperons arrived early all packed and ready at the band hall for joyful and at times tearful goodbyes.  The students were excited and ready to perform.

Band President, Callie Cunningham says they've come so far, everyone is pinching themselves wondering if it was really happening. It is a big opportunity for a small town, and its hard to believe they were picked to go.

In a system of organized chaos the band divided into flight groups and began loading the buses with suitcases and band members to start their journey to London.

And any of the kids if they got any sleep the night before and most would say no they were excited or trying to get on London time so they would be good to go.

The energy and excitement continues as the group of over 200 begins this once in a lifetime adventure.

The band's performance in the New Year's Day Parade not only kicks off the new year and Jubilee celebration, but also the start of London's Olympic celebration.
