Tall City Collects Sales Tax Revenue

MIDLAND -- The City of Midland has collected this month's revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.  The total amount of revenue received was $2,598,119.
 
This month's figure reflects an 18.23% increase or a $400,683 increase from January 2011.
 
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2011-2012 is up 21.20% or a $1,851,736 increase from last year's totals at this time.  Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $10,588,378.
 
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; January collection is based on November sales.
